  • Aid the Client to develop the Data Centre Strategy in a holistic manner, whether this is a stand-alone DC, Production & Disaster Recovery pair, Nationwide, Regional, or even Global.
  • The DC Architecture team assists in developing best practice standardised designs for next-generation DC for every business.
  • The ITI and CSE teams would cooperate with the Client to identify Greenfield, Brownfield, Expansions, or even Co-location facilities that best suit current demand, and provide the required level of availability for a prolonged DC lifespan in a cost- effective manner.
  • The site selection exercise includes location analysis including but not limited to Access, Flood Potential, as well as Physical Infrastructure detailed review based on Uptime & TIA-942.
  • For existing sites, Detailed Due Diligence (D3) would comprise of external influences, site physical parameters, as well as staff skils set, and operations and maintenance regimes.
  • The GBT DCC teams will be allocated accordingly to projects, and the teams are fully capable of complete designs of all IT, Mechanical, and Electrical elements as well as the site fit-out.

The above parameters (along with job satisfaction) are major contributors to Sick Building Syndrome (SBS). Staff thermal behaviour is assessed, not only at work, but at home, and en-route, to ensure appropriate clothing materials and layers, as well as other physical parameters (e.g., temperature, ventilation and lighting) are following best practice.

Sorrento uses Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD), a software tool for modelling how air streams and velocities are generated and perturbed by infrastructure within the data centre. CFD can show areas of starvation, extreme temperatures and even simulate CRAC failures and how that affects the white space environment.
